SikhBani is a free study companion for the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Questions about faith are personal, so this site is built to know as little about you as possible. This page explains exactly what is recorded and what is not.
When you ask a question, we record:
The anonymous question log is used to improve retrieval and answer quality, and to choose which frequently-asked questions get a written page in Questions people ask. Before any question is published there, it is screened so that nothing personal or identifying ever appears.
To compose the study commentary, your question text is processed by a third-party AI model provider. Only the question text is sent — never any information about you. Every scriptural quote in an answer is verified verbatim against our local corpus of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib before it is shown.
The site runs on Render (a cloud hosting provider). The on-server question log is wiped on every deployment; a durable copy is kept on a single private, access-controlled machine. We do not sell, share, or trade any data with anyone.
Please do not include personal details (names, contact information, health or legal specifics) in a question — the question text itself is the only thing stored, so leaving personal details out keeps the log fully anonymous. Because we hold no identities, we have no way to look up "your" questions, which also means there is no profile of you to request or delete.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
