Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਜੀਵ) ਨੇ। ਅਕਥੁ = (ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਣ। ਕਹਾਇਆ = ਕਹਿਆ ਤੇ ਕਹਾਇਆ, ਆਪ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਪਿਓ = ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਨਾਮ। ਪੀਆਇਆ = ਪੀਆ ਤੇ ਪੀਆਇਆ, ਆਪ ਪੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਇਆ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਇਥੇ ਹਨ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਭੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਧੱਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਤ = ਇਥੇ, ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਉਤੇ = ਉੱਥੇ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਬਾਧੇ ਕਾਲ = ਮੌਤ (ਦੇ ਸਹਮ) ਦੇ ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਨ (ਉਹ ਡੋਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ)।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਹਿ = ਦਿਨ। ਨਿਸਿ = ਰਾਤ। ਰਿਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਪੂਰੇ = ਪੂਰਨ।
