Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਮੇਰੀ ਦਾਤ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
Fareedkot Teeka(ਮਹਿੰਡਾ) ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਤੋ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨੋਂ ਕੀਆਂ ਤਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਉ ਮਾਥੇ ਪਰ ਲਗਾਈਐ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਚਿੱਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਮਿਲੇ। ਜੇ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਾਨੁ = ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼। ਮਹਿੰਡਾ = ਮੇਰਾ, ਭਾਵ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਤਲੀ ਖਾਕੁ = (ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਕ, ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ। ਤ = ਤਾਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੋਰ) ਲਾਲਚ, ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਫਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੂੜਾ = ਕੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਅਲਖੁ = ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤੇਵੇਹੋ = ਤਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ। ਜੇਵੇਹੀ = ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਣ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੂਰਬਿ = ਪਹਿਲੇ ਤੋਂ, ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ, ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ। ਲਿਖਿਆ = ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ।
