Prof. Sahib Singhਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਨਾਮ (ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ) ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਗਵਿ ਆਇਆ = ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਉ ਉਗਵਿ ਆਇਆ = ਨਾਮ (ਦਾ ਚਾਉ) ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜਪ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ, ਤਪ ਸਾਧ ਲਏ ਹਨ, ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਹਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਏਵੈ = ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ = ਉਸੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਨ। ਦਰਿ = ਦਰ ਤੇ, ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ, ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ॥੧੮॥
