Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮਝ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਰਤਿ = ਜਾਗ, ਚੇਤਾ, ਸਮਝ, ਲਿਵ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਖਿ = ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ। ਸੋਈ = ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਈਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੱਤ ਧੁੱਪ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧੋਈ = ਧੁਪ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਨਨ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਮਿਲਤਾ ਹੈ॥੧੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ (-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ) ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ (ਵੇਖੋ ਪਉੜੀ ਨੰ: ੯ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਤੁਕ) ਨਾਮ (ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ, ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ) ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
