Prof. Sahib Singhਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਹ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ) ਹੀ (ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ) ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਹੈ ਇਹੀ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ = (ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ) ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ। ਰੀਤਿ = ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥

Fareedkot Teeka(ਬਾਟ) ਰਸਤੇ ਮੇਂ ਔ (ਘਾਟ) ਪਤਣ ਆਦਕੋਂ ਮੇਂ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਟ ਅਰ ਬੈਤਰਨੀ ਆਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਏਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ (ਤੋਸਾ) ਖਰਚ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂਨੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਹਰੀ ਕਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ, ਪੱਤਣ ਉਤੇ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੀ) ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਾਟ = ਰਸਤਾ। ਘਾਟ = ਪੱਤਣ। ਤੋਸਾ = ਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ। ਸੰਗਿ = ਨਾਲ। ਕਉ = ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਸਖਾ = ਮਿੱਤਰ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ (ਸੇਵਕ) ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ। ਕਰਿ = ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਕਰਿ ਲੀਤ = ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
