ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਿ ਖੋਟੈ = ਖੋਟੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ। ਤਨਿ = ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ। ਚੋਰ = ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਚੋਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਤਾਂ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਬਾਹਰਲੀ) ਮੈਲ ਤਾਂ ਲਹਿ ਗਈ ਪਰ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ) ਦੂਣੀ ਮੈਲ ਹੋਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਕੁ ਭਾਉ = ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ। ਲਥੀ = (ਮੈਲ) ਲਹਿ ਗਈ। ਦੁਇ ਭਾ = ਦੋ ਹਿੱਸੇ। ਹੋਰ = ਹੋਰ ਮੈਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਤੁੰਮੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ) ਤੁੰਮੀ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਧੋਤੀ ਗਈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਵਿਸੁ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੌੜੱਤਣ) ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੀ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤੂੰਮੜੀ = ਤੁੰਮੀ। ਵਿਸੁ = ਜ਼ਹਿਰ। ਨਿਕੋਰ = ਨਿਰੋਲ।

Sant Singh KhalsaThe holy man is blessed, even without such bathing, while a thief is a thief, no matter how much he bathes. ||2||

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਸੰਤ ਬਿਨਾ ਨ੍ਹਾਤਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਚੋਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਚੋਰ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਨ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਨਾਂ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸਾਧੂ ਤੋ ਅਣਨਾਤੇ ਭੀ ਭਲੇ ਹੈਂ, ਪੁਨਾ ਜੋ ਚੋਰ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚੋਰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਚਾਹੋ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਫਿਰੈ ਤਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਚੋਰ ਹੀ ਕਮਾਵੇਂਗੇ॥੨॥
