Prof. Sahib Singhਇਸ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਚ (ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਰਾਜਾ ਹਰੀ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਢੀਠ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਅੰਦਰ-ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ) ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੜ = (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ। ਰਾਇ = ਰਾਜਾ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ। ਸਾਦੁ = ਸੁਆਦ, ਆਨੰਦ। ਧੀਠਾ = ਢੀਠ (ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਪਰਤਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਮੁ = ਅਪਹੁੰਚ। ਅਗੋਚਰੁ = (ਅ-ਗੋ-ਚਰੁ। ਗੋ = ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਮਿਲਿ = ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਲਾਗਿ = ਲੱਗ ਕੇ। ਬਸੀਠਾ = ਵਕੀਲ, ਵਿਚੋਲਾ।

Fareedkot Teekaਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੇ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੰਤ ਆਨ ਕਰ ਮਿਲਾਓ। ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਤੈਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਾਯਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕੋ (ਘਸ) ਜਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਭਯਾ ਗਰੜ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਖ ਉਤਾਰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ, (ਗਰੁੜ) ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜੋ ਮੁਖ ਮੇਂ (ਲੀਠਾ) ਲੀਆ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹ ਕਿ ਜਾਪ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਨਿ = ਲਿਆ ਕੇ। ਘਸਿ = ਘਸਾ ਕੇ। ਗਰੁੜੁ = ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਦਵਾਈ। ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ। ਲੀਠਾ = ਚੂਸ ਲਈ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨੌਕਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਫਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਊੜਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲਾਲੇ ਗੋਲੇ = ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਸੇਵਕ। ਕਰੂਆ = ਕੌੜਾ ॥੪॥
