Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਰਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
Fareedkot Teekaਸਰਬ ਪਦਾਰਥੋਂ ਕੇ ਦੇਣ ਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੌ ਛੋਡ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਵ ਔਰ (ਸੁਆਇ) ਸ੍ਵਾਰਥੋਂ ਕੇ ਕਰਨੇ ਮੇਂ ਲਾਗ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵ) ਹੋਰ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲਾਗਹਿ = ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਨ = ਹੋਰ (skt. अन्य)। ਸੁਆਇ = ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ, ਸੁਆਰਥ ਵਿਚ।

Sant Singh Khalsa- O Nanak, he shall never succeed. Without the Name, he shall lose his honor. ||1||
Manmohan SinghO Nanak! shall nowhere succeed and without the name shall lose his honour.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਭੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਇਸ ਸੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੀ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਮੇਂ ਸੀਝਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ। ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਪੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਇਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਮੇਂ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਇਗੀ ਵਾ ਜਾਤੀ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ) ਕਦੇ (ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ-ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਵਿਚ) ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਹੂ ਨ = ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸੀਝਈ = ਸਿੱਝਦਾ, ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਸਫਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਪਤਿ = ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ॥੧॥
