Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਮਨ! ਅਪਨਾ ਘਰ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਚੋਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਰਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਤਾ ਹੈਂ ਪਰਾਏ ਘਰੋਂ ਕੋ ਕੀ ਦੇਖਣੇ ਲਗਾ ਹੈਂ; ਪਰਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਕਿਆ ਦੇਖਤਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਪਨੇ ਅਵਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੇ ਦੇਖ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰਾਏ ਐਬ ਕਿਉਂ ਫੋਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਰੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ। ਮੂਸਤ = ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀ = ਕਿਉਂ? ਜੋਹਨ ਲਾਗਾ = ਤੱਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਛਿੱਦ੍ਰ ਲੱਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਬ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੇਹਿਂਗਾ ਤਬ ਅਪਨੇ ਘਰ ਕੇ (ਦਰੁ) ਬੀਚ ਸੁਭ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਰਾਖ ਸਕੈਂਗਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕਾ ਉਸੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੀਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਉ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੇਂ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਤੂੰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਇਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਚਲਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਖ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ। ਨਾਲੇ = ਨਾਲ ਹੀ, ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਝਾ ਕੇ (ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ) ਭੋਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਉਹ ਨਿਰਮੋਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਰ, ਭਾਵ ਅਧਿਕ ਅਵਰ ਰਸ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਏ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਰਸ ਕੋ ਪਾਨ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ, ਸੋਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਹੂਆ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਰਸ ਕਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਰਸ ਪੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਊਪਰਿ = ਵਧੀਆ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਨੇ। ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਗਾ = ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ।

Fareedkot Teekaਮਾਇਆ ਕਰ ਮੋਹੇ ਹੂਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਏਹੁ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਖੋਇਆ, ਭਾਵ ਰਸ ਤੇ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਰਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਸਾਕਤ ਖੋਟੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਮੇਂ ਜਾਇ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖੋਇਆ = ਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ। ਜਾ = ਜਾਇ, ਜਾ ਕੇ। ਸਾਕਤ = ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਮਨ ਕਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਵਨ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਚੇਸਟਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਸੋਂ ਕੇ ਆਸ੍ਰ੍ਯ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਹੀ ਜੀਉ ਹੈ ਔਰ (ਪਵਨ) ਸ੍ਵਾਸੋਂ ਕਾ ਪਤੀ ਚਿਦਾਭਾਸ ਹੈ, ਸੋਈ ਇਸ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇਹੀ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਇਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਮੇਂ ਦੇਉ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਾਖ੍ਯੀ (ਸਮਾਗਾ) ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹਾ ਹੈ॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਕੋ ਤਿਸ ਮੇਂ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਕੇ (ਗਾਈ) ਗਾਨ ਕਰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਕਰ ਹਰੀ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲਾਗਾ ਹੂਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈਗਾ; ਵਾ ਐਸੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ (ਰਸੁ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗਾਵਾਂ, ਤਬ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਬਿਰਤੀ ਲਗਾਇ ਕਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੇਂ ਲਗਾ ਹੂਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ॥੪॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਹਰੀ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਮਿਲਿਐ = ਮਿਲੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ = ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ।
