Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ) ਉੱਚਾ (ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਮੁ = ਅਪਹੁੰਚ। ਅਗੋਚਰੁ = (ਅ-ਗੋ-ਚਰੁ। ਗੋ = ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ। ਚਰੁ = ਪਹੁੰਚ) ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਊਤਮੁ = ਉੱਚਾ (ਜੀਵਨ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ)। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ, ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਧ = ਗੁਰੂ। ਪਾਈ = ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵਡਭਾਗੀ = ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ। ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਜ਼ਹਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੬॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਬਿਖੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਜ਼ਹਰ ॥੪॥੬॥
