Prof. Sahib Singhਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਦਾਨ ਤੇ ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਲਮਲ = ਪਾਪ। ਦਗਧ ਹੋਹਿ = ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਕੋਟਿ = ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Sant Singh KhalsaEntangled in other affairs, the mortal suffers uselessly in sorrow. Without the Lord, wisdom is useless.

Fareedkot Teeka(ਆਨ) ਔਰ ਜੋ ਮਾਯਾ ਕੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬ੍ਯਰਥ ਕਸਟ ਕੋ ਪਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਔਰ ਹਰੀ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਕਥਨੁ ਕਰਨਾ ਭੀ (ਫੋਕਟ) ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੀ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਜੰਜਾਲਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਭੱਜ-ਦੌੜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਨਿਰੀਆਂ) ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸਭ ਫੋਕੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਜੰਜਾਰ = ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ (ਮਾਇਕ) ਜੰਜਾਲਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ = ਵਿਅਰਥ। ਸ੍ਰਮੁ = ਮਿਹਨਤ, ਖੇਚਲ। ਫੋਕਟ = ਫੋਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਕਟ ਤੇ = ਕਸ਼ਟ ਤੋਂ। ਜਗਦੀਸ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ {ਜਗਤ-ਈਸ਼}। ਧਿਆਨ = ਸੁਰਤ ॥੧॥
