Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਇਹ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਕੋਈ ਗਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀਆ = ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਮਿਲਿ ਸਜਣ = (ਉਸ) ਸੱਜਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹੀਰੈ = ਹੀਰੇ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ। ਹੀਰੁ = (ਮਨ) ਹੀਰਾ। ਬੇਧਿਆ = ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ। ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ = ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਨਾਇ = ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਉਤਮ ਪੁੰਨੋਂ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਚਾਹੋ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਭੀ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਔਰ ਨਿਤ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਭੀ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹ ਕਿ ਜਬ ਤਕ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਪਰ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਤਬ ਤਕ ਨਿਕਟ ਬਸਨੇ ਔਰ ਪਾਸ ਬੈਠਨੇ ਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ (ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ) ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਤੇ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਅੰਦਰ-ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਪਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਰਮੁ = ਭਟਕਣਾ। ਪੜਦਾ = ਵਿੱਥ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੇ (ਭੇਟੇ) ਮਿਲਨੇ ਸੇ (ਕੰਚਨੁ) ਸੁਵਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਸੁਧ ਰੂਪ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ। ਯਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜੀਵ ਲੋਹੇ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹੀ ਰਹਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਰਸ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਪਰਸ ਹੋਤਾ ਤੋ ਵਹੁ ਭੀ ਕੰਚਨ ਵਤ ਸੁਧੁ ਹੋ ਜਾਤਾ, ਸੋ ਤੋ ਭਯਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਪਾਪੋਂ ਕੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਹੋਨੇ ਸੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਾ। ਪੁਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਰੂਪੀ ਕੇਵਰ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨਦੀ ਮੇਂ ਡੂਬ ਜਾਤਾ ਭਯਾ ਹੈ॥੩॥
