ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ = ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਹਾਰੁ = ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਵਿਹੁ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਇਆ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖਪਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਆਹ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਖੁ = ਜ਼ਹਿਰ। ਸੰਚਿ = ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਛਾਰੁ = ਸੁਆਹ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਕਰਮ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਜਮ (ਭੀ) ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਭ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ (ਹੀ) ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਜਮ = ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ।

Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, whatever the self-willed manmukh does, is not acceptable; in the Court of the Lord, he is dishonored. ||2||

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੋ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਮਾਉਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜਤਾ, ਭਾਵ ਪਰਵਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅੰਤ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਮੇਂ ਖੁਆਰ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ (ਭੀ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
