Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ!) ਜਿਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ (ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਜੈ = ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਤਸੂਆ = ਤੱਸੂ ਭਰ, ਰਤਾ ਭੀ {ਤਸੂ = ਇਕ ਇੰਚ ਦਾ ਦਸਵਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ}।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਧੰਧੇ) ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਕਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਲਿੱਸਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਵ ਹੀ = ਇਉਂ ਹੀ। ਬਿਰਧਾਨੋ = ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਕਤੇ = ਉਕਤਿ, ਦਲੀਲ, ਅਕਲ। ਖੀਨਸੂਆ = ਖੀਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ (ਜਵਾਨੀ ਵੇਲੇ) ਉਸ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਘਟਦੀ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਨਿ = ਉਸ ਨੇ। ਮੋਹਨੀ ਬਾਲਾ = ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ। ਰੁਚ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ। ਚਸੂਆ = ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਆਖ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਗਤ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤਦ ਮੈਂ (ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਮਾਣ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੈਨੂੰ। ਗੁਰਹਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਤਜਿ = ਤਜ ਕੇ। ਗਰਬਸੂਆ = ਮਾਣ।
