Fareedkot Teeka(ਕਮਲਾ) ਮਾਯਾ ਕੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਾ ਜੋ (ਭੀਤਿ) ਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਸੇ (ਕਮਲਾ) ਬੌਰਾ ਜੀਵ ਭਯਵਾਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਤਾ ਫਿਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਮਾਯਾ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਤੀਖਣ (ਮਦ) ਅਮਲ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਬੁਧਿ ਕੋ (ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ) ਬਿਪਰਜੈ ਕਰ ਦੇਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮੇਂ ਰਹਨੇ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਅਵਧ ਹੈ, ਸੋ (ਅਕਾਰਥ) ਬ੍ਯਰਥ ਹੀ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਧ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਥ ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ), ਮਾਇਆ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ (ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉਹਲਾ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਕੰਧ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤ੍ਰਿੱਖਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ) ਉਲਟੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆਂ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਮਲਾ = {कमला} ਲੱਛਮੀ, ਮਾਇਆ। ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ = ਭਰਮ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ। ਭ੍ਰਮ = ਭਟਕਣਾ। ਹੇ = ਹੈ। ਤੀਖਣ = ਤੇਜ਼, ਤ੍ਰਿੱਖਾ। ਮਦ = ਨਸ਼ਾ। ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ = {विपरीत} ਉਲਟੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ। ਅਵਧ = ਉਮਰ। ਅਕਾਰਥ = ਵਿਅਰਥ।

Fareedkot Teeka(ਗਹਬਰ) ਸਘਨ (ਘੋਰ) ਭੈਦਾਇਕ ਜੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬਨ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ (ਗਹਬਰ ਬਨ ਘੋਰ) ਬੜਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਅਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ ਬਨ ਰਹਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਮਨ ਚੋਰ ਜੀਵ ਕੇ (ਗ੍ਰਿਹ) ਘਰ ਕੋ ਚੁਰਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਤਾ। (ਦਿਨਕਰੋ) ਸੂਰਜ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਦਿਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕੋ ਖਾਤਾ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇਕ) ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਘਣਾ ਜੰਗਲ ਹੈ; ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਘਣਾ ਜੰਗਲ ਹੈ, (ਇਥੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਨੂੰ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ) ਚੋਰ-ਮਨ ਲੁੱਟੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸੂਰਜ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਮਾ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਨੂੰ) ਮੁਕਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਹਬਰ = ਸੰਘਣਾ। ਬਨ = ਜੰਗਲ। ਘੋਰ = ਭਿਆਨਕ। ਮੂਸਤ = ਚੁਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਲੁੱਟ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਦਿਨਕਰੋ = ਦਿਨਕਰੁ, ਸੂਰਜ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਖਾਤ = (ਉਮਰ ਨੂੰ) ਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਰ ਤੇ ਟੋਭੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ) ਪਪੀਹੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ (ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਦੀ) ਪਿਆਸ ਹੈ, ਪਪੀਹੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ (ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਉਸ ਮਸਤ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਪਸ਼ ਮਿਟਦੀ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ = ਪਪੀਹਾ। ਘਨ = ਬੂੰਦ। ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਿ = ਸੁੰਦਰ, ਸੋਹਣੀ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਆਸ = ਤਾਂਘ। ਅਲ = ਅਲਿ, ਮਸਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸ। ਤਾਪ = ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼।

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹਮ ਆਪ ਕੇ ਕੰਠ ਸੇ ਲਗੇ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ। (ਦਿਨ ਸਭਾਗੇ) ਭਾਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਾ ਓਹ ਦਿਨ, ਭਾਵ ਵਜੋਗ ਕੇ ਦਿਨ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਪਤੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਅੰਤਸਕਰਣ ਰੂਪ ਸਿਹਜਾ ਸੋਭਤੀ ਭਈ ਹੈ॥
