Prof. Sahib Singhਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ (ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੀ) ਲਾਲਸਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਮੁਖ = ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਆਸਾ = (ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ। ਉਤਰੈ = ਮੁੱਕਦੀ। ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ। ਖੁਆਏ = (ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ) ਖੁੰਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਬਾਰੇ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਥੋਂ ਓਪਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਰੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਰੀਆ ਵਿਚ)।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ = {ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਨੋ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਤਿਸੁ' ਦਾ (ੁ) ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ}। ਕਿਹੁ = ਕੁਝ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ। ਮਾਹਿ = ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੫॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ)। ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ = ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੫॥
