ਦੁਖੁ ਲਗਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ; ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
dukh lagaa bin seviai; hukam mane dukh jaae |
Sant Singh KhalsaWithout serving the Lord, he suffers in pain; accepting the Hukam of God's Command, pain is gone.
Manmohan SinghWithout serving the Lord, misery overtakes the mortal. Submitting to His will, one is rid of one's pain.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦਾ ਆ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੀਵ ਕੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਨ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਗਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨੇ ਤੋ ਦੁਖ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਾਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਪੇ = ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਸਜਾਇ = ਸਜ਼ਾ, ਦੰਡ।

ਨਾਨਕ. ਏਵੈ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਏਵੈ = ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ, (ਭਾਵ,) ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ॥੨॥
