Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬੇੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਵ = ਬੇੜੀ। ਨਾਵ ਰੂਪ ਭਇਓ = ਬੇੜੀ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬੇੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰੰਗੁ = ਸਾਥ, ਸੰਗਤਿ। ਭਵ ਨਿਧਿ = ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਪਿਓ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ। ਗਤੁ ਥੀਓ = ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਜਰੁ = ਜਰਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜਰਾ = ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥
