Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਓ ਦੇਖੋ! ਮੈਲ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਕੰਵਲ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਲਾ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
Fareedkot Teekaਨਿਰਮਲ (ਪਦਮਨਿ) ਕੋਲ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਮੇਂ ਬਸਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਔ (ਜਾਵਲ) ਜਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਬੀਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਕਵਲ ਜੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੰਤ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਕੇ (ਮਝਾਰਿ) ਬੀਚ ਵਸਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਅਰੁ ਨਾਮ ਤਹਾਂ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਲ ਹੈ। ਲਹੈ ਤਹਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਰੂਪ (ਜਾਵਲੁ) ਜਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਹੈ। ਪਦਾਰਥ ਜਾਲਾ ਕੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ, ਭਾਵ ਭੋਗਬੁਧੀ ਕਰਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰਨੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੇਂਡਕ ਵਿਸਈ ਭੀ ਤਹਾਂ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਡੱਡੂ!) ਸਾਫ਼ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਜਾਲਾ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਮਲ... ਜਲ = ਬਿਮਲ (ਸਰੋਵਰ ਦੇ) ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਮਝਾਰਿ ਬਸਸਿ। ਬਿਮਲ = ਮਲ-ਰਹਿਤ, ਸਾਫ਼। ਮਝਾਰਿ = ਵਿਚ। ਬਸਸਿ = ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਦਮਨਿ = ਕਮਲ, ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ। ਜਾਵਲ = ਜਾਲਾ। ਰੇ = ਹੇ ਡੱਡੂ!

Fareedkot Teekaਸੰਤ ਰੂਪ (ਪਦਮਨਿ) ਕੌਲੋਂ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਜਲਿ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਔ ਜਾਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥੋਂ ਕੋ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ (ਰਸ) ਜਲ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਹੈ। ਪਰੰਤੂ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੋ ਪਦਾਰਥੋਂ ਕਾ ਸੰਗ ਰੂਪੀ ਦੋਸੁ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਤਉ ਭੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰੂਪੁ ਜਾਲੇ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਉਸ ਜਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਗ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ (ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਕੋ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਕੁਮੁਦਨੀਆਂ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਹੀ (ਨਿਵਸਸਿ) ਨਿਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਤੀਆਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਖਿੜ ਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸ ਮੇਂ ਅਨਭਉ ਰਿਦੇ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਪ੍ਰਾਯ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ। ਤੈਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਾਸਟਾਂਤ ਮੇਂ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਪ੍ਰਾਯ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਸੋ, ਭਾਵ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰਿ ਦੂਰ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕਾ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਰਿਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋ ਚਾਹੋ ਬੀਚ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਕੁਛ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥☬ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਂਤ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ:

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚੰਦ = ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ। ਕੁਮੁਦਨੀ = ਕੰਮੀ {ਨੋਟ: ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੰਮੀ ਚੰਦ ਦੀ ਚਾਨਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਦੀ ਹੈ)। ਨਿਵਸਸਿ = ਨਿਊਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਖਿੜ ਕੇ) ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਨਭਉ = ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਥਣ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਖੰਡ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ (ਵਰਗੀ) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ (ਮਿਠਾਸ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਥਣ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ) ਚਿੱਚੜ ਦੀ (ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ (ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਹੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਡੱਡੂ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੂਧਿ = ਦੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ। ਮਧੁ = ਸ਼ਹਿਦ, ਮਿਠਾਸ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ = ਉੱਤਮ। ਸੰਚਸਿ = (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂ ਰੇ = ਹੇ ਡੱਡੂ! ਬਨ ਚਾਤੁਰ = ਹੇ ਪਾਣੀ (ਦੇ ਵਾਸ) ਦੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਡੱਡੂ!

Fareedkot Teeka(ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ) ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦੇਹੋਹੰ ਇਸ ਬੁਧੀ ਕੋ ਕਬੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਡਤਾ। (ਪਿਸਨ) ਚੁਗਲ ਜੈਸੇ ਚੁਗਲੀ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਡਤਾ ਹੈ; ਵਾ (ਪਿਸਨ) ਚਿਚੁੜ ਕੀ ਜੈਸੇ ਰਕਤ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਵਹੁ ਰਕਤ ਚੂਸਤਾ ਹੈ, ਥਣੋਂ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਦੂਧ ਕੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੂਸਤਾ, ਤੈਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਮੇਂ ਰਹ ਕਰ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਛੋਡ ਕੇ ਔਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈਂ॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਪੁ = ਆਪ ਨੂੰ। ਪਿਸਨ = ਚਿੱਚੜ। ਪਿਸਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ = ਚਿੱਚੜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ (ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ)। ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸੰਗਿ = ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ। ਵਸਹਿ = ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਨ = ਬੰਦੇ। ਆਗਮ = ਵੇਦ। ਸਾਸ = ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ। ਸੁਨੇ = ਸੁਨਿ, ਸੁਣ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਕਿ = ਕਈ (ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਇਕਿ' ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ ਹੈ)। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ।
