Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭੇਟਿਓ = ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ। ਬਡ ਭਾਗੀ = ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ। ਜਾ ਕੋ = ਜਿਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ। ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ = ਪਾਰ ਅਵਾਰ, ਪਾਰਲਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸਦਾ) ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਵਿਹੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰੁ = {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ} ਹੱਥ। ਗਹਿ = ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ = ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ। ਬਿਖੁ = ਜ਼ਹਰ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ = ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ (ਵਾਲੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ।
