Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੀਵ ਦੀਆਂ) ਆਸਾਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਗਿਣੇ-ਮਿੱਥੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੁਢੇਪਾ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ) ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਪਾਰ = ਅ-ਪਾਰ, ਬੇਅੰਤ। ਗਣਿ ਰਾਖੇ = ਗਿਣ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ, ਥੋੜੇ। ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਜਾਤ = ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਬਲੁ = ਤਾਕਤ ਨੂੰ। ਜਰਣੀ = ਜਰਾ, ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ॥੧॥
