Sant Singh KhalsaThe self-willed manmukh is foolish; he wanders around without the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
Manmohan SinghFoolish is the perverse person without the Lord's Name he wanders about.

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੁਗਧੁ = ਮੂਰਖ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੋਛਾ ਮਨ (ਕਿਸੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਤੇ) ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਫਿਰ ਫਿਰ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨੂਆ = ਹੋਛਾ ਮਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
