Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਜਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੈ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?
Fareedkot Teekaਜਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਕੋ ਕਿਆ ਆਖਾਂ।☬ਜੇ ਕਹੇ ਪੀਛੇ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਯਾ ਆਗੇ ਮਾਨੋਗੇ? ਤਿਸ ਪਰ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:☬(ਕਿਹੁ ਨਾਹੀ) ਪੂਰਬ ਕਾਲ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਹਮ ਕੁਛ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨੇ ਥੇ, ਆਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਕੁਛ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ, ਭਾਵ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਹਸਤੀ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੀ), ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕੀਹ ਕਰਾਂ? (ਅੰਦਰ) ਕੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਹ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਬਣ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂ?
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਉ = ਮੈਂ। ਕਿਆ ਹੋਵਾ = ਕਿਤਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਬਣ ਬਣ ਦਿਖਾਵਾਂ?

Sant Singh KhalsaAs He created me, so I act. As He causes me to speak, so I speak. I am full and overflowing with sins-if only I could wash them away!
Manmohan SinghAs God made me so I act. As He told me so I speak. With sins I am brimful and greatly soiled. Them I wash off now.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਵੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਲਬਾਲਬ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਿਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਧੋਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਨੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਰੂਪ ਜਗਤ ਕਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਜਸ ਜੋ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਕਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਉਚਾਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਰੂਪੀ ਮੈਲ ਕਰ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੂਆ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਜਲ ਵਾ ਜਸ ਰੂਪੀ ਪਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਅੰਜਲਿ ਵਾਕ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੈ ਰੂਪੀ, ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਰੂਪੀ ਅੰਸੇ ਭਰ ਭਰ ਕਰ ਤਿਸ ਮੈਲ ਕੋ ਧੋਵਤਾ ਹੂੰ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਬੋਲ-ਚਾਲ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮੰਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਦੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ (ਕਦੇ ਫੇਰ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਧੋਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਰਣਾ = (ਮੇਰਾ) ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ। ਕਹਿਆ ਕਥਨਾ = (ਮੇਰਾ) ਬੋਲ-ਚਾਲ।

Fareedkot Teekaਆਪ ਤੋ ਸਮਝਾਂ ਨਾ ਔਰ ਲੋਕੋਂ ਕੋ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂ ਐਸਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੋਵਾਂ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਐਸੇ ਆਗੂ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਇਸ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹਾਸੋ-ਹੀਣਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੋ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਹੀਨ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਸੇ, ਸੋ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਤਾਂ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਭ ਸਾਥੀਓਂ ਕੋ ਮੁਹਾਏ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਠਗਾਵੇਗਾ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੁਹਾਏ = ਠਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਮੁਹੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਹਿ; ਸੁ ਐਸਾ ਆਗੂ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੨॥

Sant Singh KhalsaBut, going to the world hereafter, he shall be beaten and kicked in the face; then, it will be obvious, what sort of guide he was! ||2||
Manmohan SinghGoing into the next world, he shall be shoe-beaten on the very face and it shall be seen, what sort of leader he was.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਛਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਐਨ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਤਾ ਲਗੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸੀ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਐਸਾ ਆਗੂ ਤੂੰ (ਜਾਪੈ) ਜਾਣੀਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਆਗੇ ਹੂਆ ਮੁਹੇ ਮੁਹ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਜਮੋਂ ਕੀ ਤਾੜਣਾ ਸਹਾਰੇਗਾ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਜੁੱਤੀਆਂ) ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤਦੋਂ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਆਗੂ (ਅਸਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਉੱਘੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੁਹੇ ਮੁਹਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ, ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ। ਪਾਹਿ = ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕਿਹੁ = ਕੁਝ, ਕੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ। ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ = ਭਰੀਜ ਕੇ, ਗੰਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ। ਐਸਾ = (ਭਾਵ) ਹਾਸੋ-ਹੀਣਾ ॥੨॥
