ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਸੰਤੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਖਿੜਾਉ। ਜੋ = ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}। ਗਾਇ = ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ = ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ। ਕਰਾਇ = ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੂਠਾ = ਠੱਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਬਿਲਲਾਇ = ਵਿਲਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਛੂਟੈ = (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਾ = ਜਦੋਂ। ਭੇਟੈ = ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
