ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ। ਚਖਾਇਓਨੁ = ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਚਖਾਇਆ। ਸਹਜਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ = ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ। ਤਿਸ ਨੋ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਤਿਸ' ਦਾ (ੁ) ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਨੋ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ}। ਤਮਾਇ = ਤਮ੍ਹਾ, ਲਾਲਚ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਚਾ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਤੁ ਲਾਹੈ = ਇਸ ਲਾਭ ਵਿਚ। ਲਾਇਅਨੁ = ਲਾਏ ਹਨ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ। ਦੇਇ = ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
