(ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਦੀ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਉਂਗਲੀ ਫੜ ਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭੁਜ = ਬਾਂਹ। ਬਲ = ਤਾਕਤ। ਭੁਜ ਬਲ = ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ! ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ = ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਗਰਤ = ਟੋਆ। ਪਰਤ = ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਡਿਗਦਾ। ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ = ਫੜ ਲੈ। ਅੰਗੁਰੀਆ = ਉਂਗਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Fareedkot Teekaਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਕਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਨ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਸੁਰਤਿ) ਸੁਸਟੂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਔਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਰੂਪ ਸੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਆਰਤ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੂਆ ਹੂਆ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਮੇਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਤਾ ਹੂੰ। ਕੈਸਾ ਹੂੰ? (ਪਿੰਗੁਰੀਆ) ਨਿਸਕਾਮ ਕਰਮੋ ਰੂਪੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ) ਕੰਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਸੁਣਨ (ਦੀ ਸੂਝ) ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਅਜੇਹੀਆਂ) ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਿ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ), ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਪਿੰਗਲਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ) ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਿ = ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਵਿਚ, ਕੰਨ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਰਤਿ = ਸੁਣਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ। ਆਰਤ = {आर्त} ਦੁਖੀਆ। ਦੁਆਰਿ = (ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਰ ਤੇ। ਰਟਤ = ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ। ਪਿੰਗੁਰੀਆ = ਪਿੰਗਲਾ, ਪੈਰ-ਹੀਣ ॥੧॥

* ਨੋਟ: ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅੰਕ ੨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੂਜਾ ਅੰਕ ੨ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 'ਗਉੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ' ਦਾ ਇਹ ਦੂਜਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ।
