Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਉਸ) ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਉਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨ = ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਗੰਨਾਥ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ। ਜਗਦੀਸਰੋ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ। ਜਗ ਜੀਵਨੋ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ, ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ, ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਮਨ ਮੋਹਨ = ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਿਉ = ਨਾਲ। ਟੇਕ = ਆਸਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਨਾਰਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਪਮਾ = ਵਡਿਆਈ। ਅਨਿਕ = ਅਨੇਕਾਂ। ਸੁਕ = ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ। ਨਾਰਦ = ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਰਦ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ = ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ। ਤਵ = ਤੇਰੇ। ਸੁਆਮੀ = ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਗਨਿਨ ਨ ਜਾਤ = ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਹਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ। ਨਿਕਟ ਹੀ = {ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ 'ਹੀ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਿਕਟਿ' ਦੀ 'ਿ' ਉੱਡ ਗਈ ਹੈ}। ਬਸਤੇ = ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇ = ਉਹ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਭਗਾਤ = ਭਗਤ।
