Fareedkot Teekaਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸੋਈ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਸੋਈ (ਸਉਣ) ਸਗਨੁ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਨੇ ਔਰ ਜਿਸ ਸਗਨ ਕੇ ਹੋਨੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਨੇ ਮੇਂ ਆਵੇ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਜੋਤਿਸ਼-ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੋਈ = ਉਹ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਹੀ। ਸਾਸਤੁ = ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ। ਸਉਣੁ = ਸ਼ੌਣਕ ਦਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋਤਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ। ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਚੀ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ। ਪੂੰਜੀ = ਰਾਸ, ਸਰਮਾਇਆ। ਸੰਜਮੋ = ਸੰਜਮੁ, ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਤਨੇ ਸੁਖ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਿਤਿ = ਮਿਣਤੀ, ਹੱਦ-ਬੰਨਾ। ਗਣੀ = ਗਣੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਗਿਣਾਂ। ਸਿਮਰੀ = ਸਿਮਰੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ; (ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ। ਉਹ = {ਨੋਟ: ਇਹ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿੰਦੁ' ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ ਹੈ}।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਨੇ {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿਨ' ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ ਹੈ। ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿਨਿ' ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}। ਨਰਿੰਦੁ = ਰਾਜਾ। ਰਾਜ ਨਰਿੰਦੁ = ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ॥੨॥
