Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜਗਤ ਤਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਹੈ, ਆਖ਼ਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਵਾਗਉਣੁ = (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਜਾਣਾ, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ। ਸੰਸਾਰੁ = ਜਗਤ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ)। ਅੰਤਿ = ਆਖ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ। ਸਚਿ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਿਆਂ)। ਨਿਬੇੜਾ = (ਆਵਾਗਉਣ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਾਤਮਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਕਰਤਾਰ) ਨੇ। ਕਰਿ = ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਰਚ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ = ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਤਪਿ ਤਪਿ = ਸੜ ਸੜ ਕੇ। ਖਪੈ = ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਤੁ = ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ। ਸਤੁ = ਉੱਚਾ ਆਚਰਨ। ਸੰਜਮੁ = ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ। ਗਤਿ = ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੇਹਿ = ਦੇਂਹਿ, ਤੂੰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਬੁਝਾਈ = ਸਮਝ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਅਕਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਤੇਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਕਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਅਕਲ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਪਸੰਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨ ਭਾਈ = ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਰਿ = ਦਰ ਤੇ। ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ। ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
