ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ = ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ। ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ। ਰਸਨਿ = ਰਸਨਾ ਉਤੇ, ਜੀਭ ਉਤੇ। ਰੰਗਿ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ। ਰਾਤਾ = ਰੰਗਿਆ, ਮਸਤ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਆਦਿਕ ਕਿਸੇ) ਹੋਰ (ਬੋਲ) ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਣੀ = ਗੁਣਵਾਨ। ਮਿਲਿ = ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਲਾਹਾ = ਲਾਭ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ)।
