Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਮੱਛਰ (ਵਾਂਗ ਨਿਤਾਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਪਹਾੜ (ਅਹੰਕਾਰ) ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੀੜੀ (ਵਾਂਗ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਹੁਣ) ਚਿੱਕੜ (ਮੋਹ) ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਸਕੰ = ਮੱਛਰ (ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਜੀਵ) (मशकः)। ਭਗਨੰਤ = ਤੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੈਲੰ = ਪਹਾੜ, ਪੱਥਰ (ਅਹੰਕਾਰ) (शैलः)। ਕਰਦਮੰ = ਚਿੱਕੜ (ਮੋਹ) (कर्दमः)।ਤਰੰਤ = ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (तरति, तरतः, तरन्ति)। ਪਪੀਲਕਹ = ਕੀੜੀ। पीलकः, पीलिुकःक्ष् an ant)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਲੂਲ੍ਹੇ ਸਮਾਨ (ਨਿਆਸਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਹੁਣ ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ (ਵੀ) ਚਾਨਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਿੰਗੰ = ਪਿੰਗਲਾ, ਲੂਲ੍ਹਾ (ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ)। ਤਮ = ਹਨੇਰਾ (तमस्)। ਅੰਧਕਹ = ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ (ਅਗਿਆਨੀ (अन्धकः)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੫॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣਿ = ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (साधुसंगेन) ॥੫੫॥
* ਭਾਵ: ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਲੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
