ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਮੁਖ = ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਹੀਨ = ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ, ਨਿਰਬਲ। ਹੋਛੀ = ਥੋੜ੍ਹ-ਵਿਤੀ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਤਨਿ = ਤਨ ਵਿਚ। ਸਰੀਰੇ = ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਾਤੀ = ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ। ਧੀਰੇ = ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ (ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ-ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਪਰਾਮ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀ ਹਾਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ = ਵੈਰਾਗ ਵਾਲੀ, ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰਾਮ। ਸਮਾਨੀ = ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੀ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੈਂ ਲੋਕ-ਲਾਜ (ਭੀ) ਭੁਲਾ ਬੈਠੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਕੁਲ = ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ। ਨਿਰੰਜਨ = {ਨਿਰ-ਅੰਜਨ। ਅੰਜਨ = ਕਾਲਖ, ਸੁਰਮਾ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ} ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ। ਲੋਕੁ = ਦੁਨੀਆ, ਜਗਤ। ਲਕਾਨੀ = ਜਗਤ ਦੀ। ਲਕਾਨੀ = {ਨੋਟ: ਅੱਖਰ 'ਲ' ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਲਗਾਂ ਹਨ: (ੋ) ਅਤੇ (ੁ) ਅਸਲ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਲੋਕਾਨੀ' ਹੈ, ਇਥੇ 'ਲੁਕਾਨੀ' ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ} ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ॥੩॥
