ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ = ਅਜੇਹਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ। ਰਮਤੁ ਸਰੀਰਾ = ਜੋ ਸਭ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ। ਰਮਤੁ = ਵਿਆਪਕ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਨਤ = ਅਨੰਤ, ਬੇਅੰਤ। ਤਰੰਗ = ਲਹਿਰਾਂ। ਰੰਗੁ = ਪਿਆਰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ = ਉਹ ਮਨ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ 'ਮੇਰਾ, ਮੇਰਾ' ਕਰਦਾ ਮਿਥਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ) ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਹਹਿ ਕਹਹਿ = ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸੋ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਉਨ ਤੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੈਂ, ਹੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੁ) ਸਮਰਥੁ! ਤੂੰ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈਂ। ਦੇਹ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ, ਸੋ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ ਹੈ, ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਐਸੇ ਜਾਨੇ ਸੋ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ॥☬ਪ੍ਰਸ਼੍ਨ: ਫਿਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਐਸਾ ਨਿਸਚਯ ਕ੍ਯੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਤਾ?☬ਉੱਤ੍ਰ:
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕੇਵਲ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ।)

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧੇਨੁ = ਗਾਂ। ਪੰਖ = ਖੰਭ। ਉਤਭੁਜ = ਬਨਸਪਤੀ। ਕਾਮਿ = ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ। ਕਾਮਿ ਨਾਹੀ = ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ, ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧੁ = ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ-ਪਨ। ਰਸੁ = ਸੁਆਦ। ਪਵਣੁ ਨ ਵਾਜੈ = ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵੱਜਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਅਗੋਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਡੰਗੋਰੀ ਫੜੇ-(ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਞਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਫਲ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਜੂਤਾ = ਫੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਆਗੈ = ਅੱਗੋਂ। ਵਿਣੁ ਸੇਵਾ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ। ਫਲ = ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਫਲ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਖਰ = ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼। ਭੁਇ = ਧਰਤੀ, ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਧਰਤੀ। ਚੋਖੀ = ਸਵੱਛ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ। ਭਾਉ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ। ਕਰੇਹੀ = ਕਰੇਹਿ, ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਮੇਂ ਮਰਣਾ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਸਭ ਸਫਲਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤੀ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੋਰੁ ਕੈਸਾ) ਔਰ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਰਣਾ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਸਫਲਾ ਹੋਇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੈ। (ਜਾ ਜੀਵਾ) ਜੋ ਭਗਤੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਹਮ ਜੀਤੇ ਭੀ ਰਹੇਂ ਤਉ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ, ਯਹ ਬਾਰਤਾ ਜੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਜੋਗ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਮਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦਾ ਮਰ ਜਾਣਾ-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ, ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਢੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਰਣੁ = ਮੌਤ, ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ। ਜਾ = ਜੇ। ਜੀਵਾ = ਮੈਂ (ਹੋਰ ਜੀਵਨ) ਜੀਵਾਂ। ਜੁਗਤਿ = ਢੰਗ, ਤਰੀਕਾ, ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਢੰਗ।
