ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਿਨਹਿ = ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੇ ਹੀ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਨੇ। ਮੇਦਨਿ = ਧਰਤੀ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ। ਸਿਰਜੀਆ = ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਧੇਰਾ = ਹਨੇਰਾ। ਨਾਠਾ = ਨੱਠ ਗਿਆ। ਅਮਿਉ = ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ।
