ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ = ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ। ਬਾਧਾ = ਬੱਝਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ) ਸਰਧਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਮਰੈ = ਹਉਮੈ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਤੀਤਿ = ਸਰਧਾ।
