Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਲੋਭ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਸਕੇ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰੇ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ = ਅਹੰਕਾਰ। ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ = ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ। ਇਨ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੇ = ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੋਂ। ਰਹੁ = ਹਟ ਜਾਹ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਿਲਿ = ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਕੀਜੈ = ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੋਸਟਿ = ਵਿਚਾਰ। ਹਰਿ ਗੋਸਟਿ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ। ਸਾਧੂ ਸਿਉ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ, ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨਾਲ। ਰਸਾਇਣੁ = {ਰਸ-ਅਯਨ} ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਰਸ। ਰਮਹੁ = ਸਿਮਰੋ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮਾਣ ਹੈਂਕੜ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈਂ)। ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਤਰ ਕਾ = ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾ। ਜੋਰੁ = ਹੈਂਕੜ। ਆਪਨ ਗਹੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖੋ।
