Prof. Sahib Singhਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਿ = ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ ਨੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭਿ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਗੁਰਮਤਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ। ਮਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਬਨੇ = ਮੱਤ ਨਾਮ ਬਨੀ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਮੱਤ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ;ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਫਾਸ = ਫਾਹੀਆਂ। ਬੰਧ = ਬੰਧਨ। ਬੰਧੇ = ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ। ਖੁਲ ਖੁਲਨੇ = ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੰਦੂਏ ਨੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, (ਹਾਥੀ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਤੰਦੂਏ ਤੋਂ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ = ਹਾਥੀ, ਗਜ {ਉਹ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਜੋ ਸਰਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ}। ਤਦੂਐ = ਤੰਦੂਏ ਨੇ। ਮੋਖ ਮੁਖਨੇ = ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਨੋਂ ਭੀ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ (ਥਾਹ) ਮ੍ਰਿਯਾਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤੋ ਹਮ ਤੁਛ (ਜਨ) ਜੀਵ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਵਡੇ ਤੁਝ ਕੋ ਕੇਸੈ ਪਾਵੈਂ? ॥੪॥੫॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ, ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭੀ, ਕਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥੫॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਥਾਹ = ਡੂੰਘਾਈ, ਹਾਥ। ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ = ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਵਡਨੇ = ਵੱਡੇ ॥੪॥੫॥
