Sant Singh KhalsaSing the Glorious Praises of the Lord twenty-four hours a day; renounce other entanglements.

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਠ ਪਹਰਿ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੀਏ ਔਰ ਜੰਜਾਲੋਂ ਕੋ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਈਏ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ, ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੱਡੇ ਜਾਣ,
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ = (ਜੇ) ਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ। ਤਜੀਅਹਿ = (ਜੇ) ਤਜੇ ਜਾਣ। ਅਵਰਿ = ਹੋਰ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਜੰਜਾਲ = (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਬੰਧਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੮॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਮ ਕੰਕਰੁ = {ਕਿੰਕਰੁ = ਨੌਕਰ} ਜਮ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ, ਜਮਦੂਤ। ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਈ = ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੮॥
