ਊਤਮੁ ਊਚੌ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ; ਗੁਣ. ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਖ ॥

aootam aoochau paarabraham; gun. ant na jaaneh sekh |

Sant Singh Khalsathat the Supreme Lord God is the most sublime and lofty. Even the thousand-tongued serpent does not know the limits of His Glories.
Manmohan Singhwhose virtues and limit even the thousand-mouthed serpent does not know.

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੇਖ = ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ = ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਮੂੰਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਣ ਅੰਤੁ = ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦੇ। ਨਾਰਦ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਨੀ ਲੋਕ, ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਆਸ (ਆਦਿਕ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ) ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਰਦ = {ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ; ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ। ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਝਗੜਾ ਪਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। 'ਵੀਣਾ' ਇਸੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ। ਇਕ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ}। ਸੁਕ = ਬਿਆਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ {ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਸੀ, ਅਪੱਛਰਾ ਰੰਭਾ ਨੇ ਬਥੇਰਾ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ, ਪਰ ਡੋਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ। ਰਾਜਾ ਪਰੀਛਤ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਗਵਤ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ}।

Prof. Sahib Singhਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੀਧੇ = ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ। ਬੀਧੇ = ਵਿੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ। ਭਗਵੰਤ = ਭਗਵਾਨ (ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੰਡ = ਮੰਡਲੀਆਂ, ਸਮੂਹ। ਜਸੁ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ। ਸਤਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣ)। ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ। ਭਾਉ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਪਤਮਿ = ਸਪਤਮੀ ਥਿਤਿ। ਸੰਚਹੁ = ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੋ। ਨ ਜਾਹਿ = ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ। ਭੰਡਾਰ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਿਸ = {दिश} ਪਾਸੇ, ਤਰਫ਼ਾਂ। ਖੋਜਤ = ਢੂੰਡਦਾ। ਜਤ = {यत्र} ਜਿਥੇ। ਦੇਖਉ = ਦੇਖਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤਤ = {तत्र} ਉਥੇ। ਸੋਇ = ਉਹ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹੀ।
