Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਮ (ਭੀ, ਭਾਵ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕਦਾ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਚਿ = ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ। ਸੰਜਮੋ = ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਮੇਂ ਉਜਲੇ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ, ਯਾਂ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥੮॥☬ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਪੂਜਕ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਜੋੜੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਮੱਥੇ ਖਿੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ॥੮॥
