ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਪਤ = ਜਾਪਦਿਆਂ। ਪਰਮ = ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ। ਪਾਈਐ = ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਵਾਗਉਣੁ = ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣ (ਦਾ ਗੇੜ), ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ। ਮੀਤ = ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
