Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਹੀ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਾਤਾ = (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ = ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ। ਉਰ = ਹਿਰਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ। ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਮਾਰੇ = ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Manmohan SinghHe who utters and repeats God's praise, is the highest of the high. So, by Guru's grace, I keep the Lord clasped to my heart.

Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਕਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਵਹੀ ਵਡਿਓਂ ਸੇ ਬਡਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਰਿਦੇ ਮੇਂ ਧਾਰ ਰਖ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਬਧ ਹੋਵ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੇ ਵਡੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਵੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਜਾਪ ਕੋ ਜਪੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੇ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥੩॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

Sant Singh KhalsaThe Lord is close to His humble servant, and His humble servant is close to the Lord; He keeps His humble servant clasped to His Heart.
Manmohan SinghGod is near to His saint and the saint is near to his God. The Lord keeps His saint clasped to His bosom.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਆਪਦੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਸਮੀਪ ਹੋਇਕੇ ਜਿਨੋਂ ਜਨੋਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਕੋ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਿਨ ਜਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਹਰੀ ਕੰਠ ਸਾਥ ਲਾਇਕੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਨਿਕਟ ਰਾਖਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਉਨ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਨ ਦੇਤਾ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਕਟਿ = ਨੇੜੇ। ਕੰਠਿ ਧਾਰੇ = ਕੰਠਿ ਧਾਰਿ, ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ।
