Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪਪੀਹੇ! ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਸਰਬ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਫਿਰਾਇ = ਤੂੰ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਉਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੂਕਣ ਪਾਹਿ = ਤੂੰ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਸਾਰ = ਕਦਰ। ਨ ਜਾਣਹੀ = ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ, ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੂਝ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
