Fareedkot Teekaਲੋਭ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਔਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ੋਂ ਕਾ ਧਨ ਬਲ ਛਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰ (ਪਰ ਹਰਨਾ) ਖੋਸ ਲੈਣਾਂ ਔਰ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਔਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਦੀ ਇਨ ਵਿਕਾਰੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਸਾਕਤੋਂ ਨੇ ਆਯੂ ਅਪਣੀ (ਗੁਦਾਰੀ) ਬਿਤਾਈ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧਨ ਚੁਰਾਣਾ, ਲੋਭ ਕਰਨਾ; ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣਾ, ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨੀ-ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਸਾਕਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮਰ) ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਰ = ਪਰਾਇਆ (ਧਨ)। ਹਰਨਾ = ਚੁਗਾਣਾ। ਨਿੰਦ = ਨਿੰਦਿਆ। ਇਵ ਹੀ = ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ। ਗੁਦਾਰੀ = ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ, ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

Fareedkot Teekaਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਤ ਜੋ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਝੂਠੇ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਮੀਠੀ ਜਾਨ ਕਰ ਇਨਹੀਂ ਕੀ (ਟੇਕ) ਸਰਣ ਸਾਕਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ (ਸਾਧਾਰੀ) ਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਈ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਹਾਏ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਠਗ-ਨੀਰਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਕਤ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਦੀ) ਟੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਥੰਮ੍ਹੀ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ = ਠਗ-ਨੀਰਾ, ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰੇਤ-ਥਲਾ। ਮਿਥਿਆ = ਝੂਠੀ। ਮਨਹਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਸਾਧਾਰੀ = ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਗਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਭਾਰ (ਮੂਸਾ) ਚੂਹਾ ਟੁਕ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗਵਾਇ ਦੇਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਸ (ਗਾਵਾਰੀ) ਮੂਰਖ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਭਾਵ ਜੈਸੇ ਟੁਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਗਜੋਂ ਪਰ ਚੂਹੇ ਕਾ ਪੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਰਤਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਇਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮੇਂ ਸਾਕਤੋਂ ਕੌ ਲਾਭ ਕੁਛ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੂਹਾ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਢੇਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਟੁੱਕ ਟੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਗਵਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਾਉ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਗਦ = ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗੁਦਾਰੀ', 'ਆਵਰਦਾ', 'ਕਾਗਦ' ਦਾ ਅੱਖਰ 'ਦ' ਅੱਖਰ 'ਜ' ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਕਾਜੀ' ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਾਠ 'ਕਾਦੀ' ਹੈ। 'ਜਪੁ' ਵਿਚ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਕਾਦੀਆ' ਮਿਰਜ਼ਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ 'ਕਾਦੀਆਂ' ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਭੀ 'ਕਾਜੀਆ' ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਾਠ ਹੈ}। ਟੂਕਿ = ਟੁੱਕ ਟੁੱਕ ਕੇ। ਗਾਵਾਰ = ਮੂਰਖ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਅਗਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਧੇ ਜੀਵੋਂ ਕੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਮੇਂ ਡੂਬਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਕੋ ਸਾਧ ਜਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਢ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਜਿਸ ਪਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕਰ ਦੇਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥੧੧॥੪੨॥☬ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਰਖਿਯਕ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੪੨॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧ = (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੰਗਾਰੀ = ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੪੨॥
