Prof. Sahib Singhਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਮੈਂ (ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਤਕਲਫ਼ਿ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਈ = ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ। ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੈਨੂੰ। ਮੋਹਿ ਆਈ = ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕਹੰਉ = ਮੈਂ ਦੱਸਾਂ। ਬੇਦਨ = ਦੁੱਖ। ਕਾਹਿ = ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ? ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੀਲੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਉਪਾਵ = ਹੋਰ ਹੀਲੇ। ਆਨ = (अन्य)। ਉਪਾਵ = (ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਉਪਾਉ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਸਗਰ = ਸਗਲੇ, ਸਾਰੇ। ਸਾਕਹਿ ਲਾਹਿ = ਲਾਹ ਸਕਦੇ, ਉਤਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
