ਮਨਿ ਫੇਰਤੇ; ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਗੀਆ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ = ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ। ਸੰਗੀਆ = ਸਾਥੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਈ = ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ। ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੈਨੂੰ। ਮੋਹਿ ਆਈ = ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕਹੰਉ = ਮੈਂ ਦੱਸਾਂ। ਬੇਦਨ = ਦੁੱਖ। ਕਾਹਿ = ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ? ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੀਲੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਉਪਾਵ = ਹੋਰ ਹੀਲੇ। ਆਨ = (अन्य)। ਉਪਾਵ = (ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਉਪਾਉ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਸਗਰ = ਸਗਲੇ, ਸਾਰੇ। ਸਾਕਹਿ ਲਾਹਿ = ਲਾਹ ਸਕਦੇ, ਉਤਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ (ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ)। ਤਰਨ ਸਾਗਰ = (ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਲਈ) ਜਹਾਜ਼। ਅਨਹਤਾ = ਇਕ-ਰਸ, ਲਗਾਤਾਰ। ਬੈਨ = ਬਚਨ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
