Fareedkot Teekaਫਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਮਛੀ ਔ (ਕਪਕਿ) ਬਾਂਦਰ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ। ਵਹੁ ਤੋ ਮਾਸ ਔ ਚਨਿਓਂ ਕੀ ਖੀਲੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਉਰਝਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਪੁਨਹ ਤੂੰ (ਉਰਝਿ) ਫਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਸੁੰਭੇ ਮੇਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਖਿਨ ਭੰਗਰ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਯੋਂ ਮੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਕਸੁੰਭੇ (ਵਾਂਗ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਉਲਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਮੱਛੀ ਅਤੇ (ਛੋਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਠ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਬਾਂਦਰ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਫਾਕਿਓ = ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੀਨ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ = ਮੱਛ ਵਾਂਗ। ਕਪਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ = ਬਾਂਦਰ ਵਾਂਗ। ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ = ਵਾਂਗ। ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ = ਉਲਝਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਕਸੁੰਭਾਇਲੇ = ਕਸੁੰਭੇ (ਵਾਂਗ ਛੇਤੀ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ) ਵਿਚ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਪੈਰ ਉਠਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ ਵਹੁ ਭੀ ਲੇਖੇ ਮੇਂ ਹੈ ਪੁਨਹ ਜੋ ਸੁਵਾਸ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ ਵਹੁ ਭੀ ਲੇਖੇ ਮੇਂ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵ ਸਭ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਅਰੁ ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਮੇਂ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਗਾਫਲ ਮਤ ਹੋਹੁ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਤੌ (ਉਧਰੇ) ਛੁਟੇਂਗਾ ਜੌ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਗੁਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਗਾਇ ਲੇਵੇਂਗਾ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ) ਕਦਮ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ) ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ (ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਗ ਧਾਰਹਿ = ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਸਾਸੁ ਲੈ = ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਲੇਖੈ = (ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ) ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ। ਤਉ = ਤਦੋਂ। ਉਧਰਹਿ = ਤੂੰ ਬਚੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਕਿ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪੰਛੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਰਾਤ ਕੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੇ) ਫਿਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਪੰਛੀ ਵਿਛੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਛੜ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ)। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਬੱਸ! ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ॥੨॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੰਖੀ = ਪੰਛੀ। ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇ = ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ। ਬਿਛੁਰੈ = (ਹਰੇਕ ਪੰਛੀ) ਵਿਛੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਥਿਰੁ = ਅਡੋਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਲੋਭ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੀਨੁ = ਮੱਛ {ਪੁਲਿੰਗ}। ਸਾਦਿ = ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ। ਰਸਨ = ਜੀਭ। ਓਹੁ ਮੂੜ = ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ (ਮੱਛ)।
