ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਥਿ = ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ। ਕਰਿ = ਕਰ ਕੇ, (ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ) ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਤੰਤੁ = ਤਾਰ। ਥੋਥਰ = ਖ਼ਾਲੀ, ਵਿਅਰਥ, ਬੇ-ਅਸਰ। ਬੇਨ = ਬੀਣਾ, ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਵਹਿ = ਜੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੂਪ = ਖੂਹ। ਸਿੰਚਨ ਕਉ = ਸਿੰਜਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਬਸੁਧਾ = ਧਰਤੀ। ਉਠਿ = ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ॥੨॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੋ: ਹੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ! ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮਾਦਿ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੇਖ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟੀ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਬੁਧਿ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਤੇ ਹੋ ਤਿਸ ਮੇਂ ਹਮ ਚਲਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਹਮ ਜੀਵ ਸੁਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੰਗਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਮਤਿ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੰਗਮ = ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਾ। ਇਹ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਮੋਰ ਦੇ ਖੰਭ ਟੁੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੱਪ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਦੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਰੱਸੀ ਲਪੇਟ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਿਤੁ = ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ। ਚੇਲ = ਚੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ (ਪੇਲ) ਪ੍ਰੇਰ ਕਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਰਨੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਲਗਾਓ॥੪॥੯॥੬੧॥☬ਏਕ ਕਾਲ ਮੇਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੋਈ ਗਵਈਏ ਭਗਤੀਏ ਆਏ। ਸੋ ਘੁੰਘਰੂ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਜੋਂ ਸਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਸਬਦੋਂ ਕੋ ਗਾਵਤੇ ਥੇ। ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਸੁਨ ਕਰ ਕਿਸੀ ਸਿਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸੇ ਕਹਾ, 'ਹੇ ਭਗਵਨ! ਆਪ ਭੀ ਕਬੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ'। ਤਿਸ ਪਰ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
