Prof. Sahib Singhਜੋਗੀ (ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਤਾਰ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਬੇਅਸਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਜਦੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਞਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਥਿ = ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ। ਕਰਿ = ਕਰ ਕੇ, (ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ) ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਤੰਤੁ = ਤਾਰ। ਥੋਥਰ = ਖ਼ਾਲੀ, ਵਿਅਰਥ, ਬੇ-ਅਸਰ। ਬੇਨ = ਬੀਣਾ, ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਏਕੋ = ਇੱਕ ਹੀ, ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਵਰਤੈ = ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਮ = ਸਾਡੀ। ਆਦੇਸੁ = ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Fareedkot Teekaਗਾਉਣੇ ਪਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਾਂਤੁ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੈਸੇ ਬੇਲੋਂ ਕੇ ਸੀਂਚਨੇ ਕੋ ਕੂਪ ਕੋ ਜੋੜੇ, ਉਸ ਕੋ ਬੈਲ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਹੀ ਚਰ ਗਏ ਹੋਵੇਂ। ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੋ ਜੋ ਬੈਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਾਨੀ ਨਿਕਸਨਾ ਥਾ, ਸੋ ਉਠ ਕਰ (ਬੇਲ) ਬੇਲੇ, ਭਾਵ ਜੰਗਲ ਮੇਂ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਹੋਵੈ। ਤੈਸੇ ਸੁਭ ਗੁਨੋਂ ਰੂਪੀ ਬੇਲੀਓਂ ਕੇ ਸੀਂਚਨੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜੋ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਵਾ ਰਾਗ ਗਾਇਨ ਰੂਪ ਜਲੁ ਸੰਚਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਥਾ, ਸੋ ਮਨ ਬੈਲੁ ਗੁਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਖਾਇ ਗ੍ਯਾ ਹੈ ਵਾ ਬੇਲੇ ਮੇਂ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਭਜਨ ਕਾਲ ਮੇਂ ਮਨੁ ਇਸਥਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸਾਨ) ਪੈਲੀ ਸਿੰਜਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਖੂਹ ਜੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਬੈਲ (ਹੀ) ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਵੇਲਾਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਵਹਿ = ਜੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੂਪ = ਖੂਹ। ਸਿੰਚਨ ਕਉ = ਸਿੰਜਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਬਸੁਧਾ = ਧਰਤੀ। ਉਠਿ = ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ॥੨॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਸਰੀਰ ਨਗਰ ਮੇਂ (ਕਰਮ ਹਰਿ) ਹਰੀ ਨਮਿਤ ਕਰਮ, ਭਾਵ ਨਿਸਕਾਂਮ ਕਰਮੋਂ ਕੋ ਕਰੋ, ਏਹ ਬੀਜ ਬੋਵਹੁ। ਪੁਨਾ ਮਨ ਬੈਲ ਕੋ ਇਸਥਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁ) ਮਨਨ ਮੇਂ ਜੋੜੋ। ਤਬ ਸਾਖ੍ਯਾਤਕਾਰ ਰੂਪ ਹਰਾ ਖੇਤੁ ਅੰਕਰਤਿ ਹੋਗਾ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ!) ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਬੀਜੋ; (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹਰਾ ਖੇਤ ਉੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਇਆ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਕਰਮ ਹਰਿ = ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ। ਬੋਵਹੁ = ਬੀਜੋ। ਜਾਮੈ = ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕੋ, ਇਸ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨ-ਬੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਵੋ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਲ ਸਿੰਜੋ ॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ = ਅਡੋਲ, ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਜੇਤੁ = ਜਿਤੁ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨ-ਬੈਲ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੰਗਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਮਤਿ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੰਗਮ = ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਾ। ਇਹ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਮੋਰ ਦੇ ਖੰਭ ਟੁੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੱਪ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਦੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਰੱਸੀ ਲਪੇਟ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਿਤੁ = ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ। ਚੇਲ = ਚੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਭਗਤ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਕਿਉਂ ਕੋਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਦਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ? ਜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਹੋ ਭੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਉ = ਨੂੰ। ਪਤੀਆਵੈ = ਯਕੀਨ ਦਿਵਾਏ। ਲੋਕਿ ਪਤੀਣੈ = ਜੇ ਜਗਤ ਪਤੀਜ ਭੀ ਜਾਏ। ਪਤਿ = ਇੱਜ਼ਤ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ = ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ। ਬੋਲਿ = ਬੋਲੈ, ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਾਹਕ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੬੩॥
